We will connect to the energy of fire to welcome its return and the coming of summer. The day will begin with intention setting and an uplifting homemade tonic by Sophie to get you fired up and ready to flow. This will then be followed by a 75 minute fire mandala vinyasa practice lead by Katarina. You will have the chance to explore your practice, moving fiercely but freely stoking the fire and building heat with lots of twists. Both Kat and Jonelle will be able to give you suitable modifications where appropriate. The class is open to those beginning their yoga journey and advanced practitioners. The only prerequisites are a love of yoga, good vibes and delicious food!
After the practice you will enjoy a drink and snack in advance of our Beltane and new moon ritual. Jonelle will guide you through this practice of connecting to the divine feminine & masculine energies and setting intentions.
The ritual will lead into a relaxing 75 minute Yin practice by Jonelle. The practice will be sequenced to connect to all the elements and help to manifest your intentions. This will be accompanied by a sound bath.
After the practice you will enjoy a delicious and plentiful three course vegan supper including DIY dessert making lead by Sophie. Think the finest seasonal delights, creative salads, homemade condiments and dips, leaving you feeling revitalised and satisfied post yoga.
An indulgent treat for yourself or a perfect gift for a loved one, this is the best way to spend your Saturday!
Please note that the menu will be suitable for vegans and also gluten free. For any other dietary requirements, please notify us before hand.
Open to all levels.
About Jonelle: Be brave, be fierce, be free is Jonelle’s personal mantra and an invitation she extends to everyone who practices with her. An American living in London, Jonelle dabbled with Ashtanga in 2004 when she was pregnant with her daughter Francesca. After a long break from yoga, in 2011 she began practicing with a purpose. While going through a difficult divorce she found her yoga practice really helped her get her life back. It was liberating, invigorating and healing. In March 2014 she left London behind and went to India to train as an yoga teacher. She trained with The Yoga People run by Dulce Aguilar and Jamie Clarke for her 200 hour foundation course. She’s completed over 800 hours of training and is certified in Ashtanga, Hatha, Hot, Mandala, Qi Gong, Rocket, Vinyasa & Yin yoga. She teaches all over Central and South London. She also leads UK & International yoga retreats. Her classes are set to an urban sound track which is reflective of her roots and her passion for music, creativity and fluidity in life. From growing up in Philadelphia and living in DC and NYC she brings an international vibration and an authenticity into classes which are edgy and filled with a lot laughter. She enjoys teaching all age groups and firmly believes ‘Yoga is for EVERYBODY’.
About Kat: As a physics graduate and trained actress, making the transition to full time yoga teacher wasn't the obvious choice. However, it was after discovering a strong yang style of yoga in London, and then traveling to India to explore the lighter practice of Sivananda yoga that she realised what an integral part of her physical and mental wellbeing it had become. She then returned to India a year later to complete her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in Ashtanga and Ashtanga Vinyasa (Rocket) with The Yoga People, who themselves were taught by Larry Schultz the pioneer of Rocket yoga. Katarina immediately began teaching yoga full time and by 2017 had completed 500hrs of advanced Teacher Training with her teachers Jamie and Dulce, The Yoga People, in Ashtanga, Rocket, Yin & Mandala Vinyasa. Katarina continues to build her advanced teacher training hours as expanding her knowledge, to pass on to her students is something she’s very passionate about. In 2018 she completed 50hrs of advanced adjusting and anatomy with Ambra Vallo. Katarina's public teaching schedule consists of a mixture of Rocket yoga and the Mandala model in her Vinyasa classes, working closely with chakra and elemental theories. In summer 2018 Katarina began co-teaching the 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with The Yoga People. Join Katarina at a studio in London or on one of her yoga retreats worldwide. Katarina is the co-owner of Kindred Yoga, a yoga studio in Deptford Southeast London, with her husband Julian. Katarina is a 500hr, Yoga Alliance approved, Registered Yoga Teacher. E-RYT 500.
